Commercial Director, EMEA

Stylus / London

We are looking for a Commercial Director to lead revenue generation for our subscription and advisory businesses in EMEA. You will be an intelligent problem solver with a passion for the innovation, tech and creative industries. Driven by pipeline management and beating targets, you will be responsible for managing and motivating the EMEA New Business and Client Services teams, as well as generating new business against your own individual target.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop pipeline for own book of new business, from researching leads to cold calling, pitching to prospects – closing at least one new business deal per month
  • Monitor pipeline activity and provide regular updates on sales forecasts 
  • Propose suggestions to the Executive Board on existing product offering to maximise commercial opportunities 
  • Line manage Stylus’ EMEA New Business and Clients Services teams, ensuring that relevant processes (including CRM processes) are put in place to maximise efficiency and that targets are met
  • Carry out regular reviews with direct reports, ensuring that professional growth and development plans are put in place and that top talent is retained
  • Develop and implement strategy to grow Stylus’ revenue in line with annual targets set by the Board
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure UK/EMEA marketing and advertising activities are generating revenue, identifying the activities that generate the greatest ROI
  • Work closely with the senior Content team to ensure client and prospect feedback is presented and that sales messages are aligned 
  • Attend relevant events to keep up to date with industry needs

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 12+ years’ experience in B2B sales, with at least 5 years at senior sales manager level (consultancy sales preferable), ideally with responsibility for selling into a variety of EMEA markets
  • Number orientated, fanatical about monitoring sales and pipeline trends and beating targets
  • Proven success in solution selling techniques 
  • Ability to understand product, design or consumer issues a brand may have and position Stylus as a solution 
  • An experienced presenter with exceptional communication skills 
  • Strong people manager with a proven ability to manage, grow and motivate sales teams, fostering a culture of exceeding targets as well as teamwork, collaboration, development and growth

Senior Developer

Stylus / London

This role is for a self-starter that can work within a team of developers implementing and supporting various projects across the business. The Senior Developer will be responsible for assisting in the development of a range of systems across the company. The majority of work will be on the website using EpiServer CMS (.NET framework) to produce functionality for the company web site. Other systems that you will integrate and develop with are Salesforce, Amazon AWS, Akamai and Smartlogic (.NET).

Systems Development:

  • Design and documentation of complex technical solutions 
  • Participation in all stages of the solution life cycle from pre-sales to support 
  • Support existing and new functionality across all systems. 
  • Contribution to the architecture of solutions. 
  • Design and develop solutions for the business across all platforms 
  • Proactively advise on new / alternative methods to achieve business goals using existing systems to maximise IT investments. 
  • Advocacy of industry best-practices throughout all stages of the project life cycle, including task estimation and progress updating. 
  • Collaboration with non-IT personnel to develop systems in line with requirements.

Support:

  • Support technical issue resolution in connection with client support issues, including out-of-hours’ work (minimal).

Business Development Manager

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to help grow the Stylus client base and maximise revenue.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop a business plan for assigned territory or industry vertical, identifying key players and implementing strategy to bring new clients on board
  • Liaise with Marketing, Client Services, Advisory and Content teams to gain a forensic understanding of the Stylus product 
  • Operating a solution sales approach, apply industry knowledge to understand marketing, design, consumer and other related strategies or development areas a b2b client may have and develop proposals to best position Stylus as a solution to these issues
  • Autonomously manage end to end process of sales cycle from researching leads to closing deals with proven ability to multi-task across managing multiple clients at different points of the sales process
  • Operate a ‘volume’ approach to sales as well as cultivate longer term ‘C’ level relationships to extend client relationship into advisory services New business
  • Be a CRM ‘master’, recording all activity in Salesforce 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to at least degree level in related discipline
  • An experienced solution-seller with minimum 5- 10 years b2b sales experience, ideally gained in a variety of industries and preferably selling into b2b companies and agencies
  • A skilled and resilient influencer and negotiator who can work under pressure and who thrives on meeting deadlines and exceeding targets
  • A results-oriented, commercially savvy and natural problem solver – key to fully understanding and articulating the Stylus offering
  • Highly analytical with demonstrable experience in selling subscription products as well as one off consultancy projects

Advisory Trend Forecasting Researchers / Consultants

Stylus / London and New York

We are looking for two researchers and presenters with the enthusiasm, gravitas, and industry knowledge to join our Advisory teams in London and New York respectively. This role is responsible for helping apply Stylus’ lifestyle, product and engagement research and content to specific client issues or initiatives and deliver this bespoke work to our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, commissioning, researching, creating and editing advisory decks, reports and other deliverables, along with Stylus experts and contributors
  • Depending on previous experience, delivering advisory work – often live to the client in formats including one to one meetings, workshops, panels and large audience presentations
  • Diagnosing client needs and how Stylus can address these through advisory
  • Agreeing the scope with the client
  • Helping the Sales and Client Services teams market advisory services to our existing and prospective clients through joining conference calls, attending meetings with the commercial teams and creating outlines and proposals
  • If applying for the role in New York, you should expect to spend up to 20% of your time travelling for this role across the US

Client Services Manager

Stylus / New York

Working within our US sales team you will help retain and grow the Stylus membership base.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand innovation issues a B2B client may have and position Stylus as a solution to these issues and ability to convince users of the value Stylus can add to their business. 
  • High level of responsiveness required, to field client questions that at times are very stretching around specific issues they have and sourcing reports to help them and more administrative issues that arise from time to time around user changes. 
  • Cultivate longer term ‘C’ level relationships to extend client relationship into advisory services. 
  • To be commercially responsible for growing your book of business and focused on customer and user acquisition, activation, retention, and upsell.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Educated to at least degree level in related discipline
  • Minimum  5 years’ client services related experience

Business Development Intern

Stylus / London

We are looking for a bright and curious graduate to support our Business Development team in EMEA on a 6 months paid internship starting in January 2018.

Based in our London office, you will be assisting the Business Development Manager of Southern Europe with identifying prospective clients to introduce Stylus and set up meetings on behalf of Business Development Manager for Italy, France and Spain.

You will play a key role on the overall sales cycle, making a real impact on the growth of our portfolio of clients in Southern Europe (which are the largest global brands in industries such as Automotive, Food & Bev, Hospitality, Beauty, Fashion, etc.) and assisting the team with hitting performance and revenue targets. 

Key responsibilities

  • Market research to identify best people (decision-makers) to contact within prospective client companies
  • Understand the profile of Stylus’ customer base and target markets and identify the most likely prospects (customer competitors, similar size/nature businesses, key markets, key job functions)
  • Proactively interact with prospective clients (CXO Executives from Marketing, Design, Consumer Insights, Retail) via telephone and email and document these communications clearly within the CRM system
  • Assist in ad hoc data analysis and cleansing, generating reports as required 

Skills and qualifications

  • A degree (or studying towards) in a related discipline (business, marketing, sales, creative)
  • Any work experience gained in sales, commercial roles within corporations or marketing agency, familiarity with a CRM / sales automation system is an advantage
  • Fluent in French, Italian or Spanish.• Excellent oral communication skills and written skills
  • Hunger for sales and in acquiring new client brands
  • Demonstrable on-going interest in innovation and trends in the creative consumer industries, marketing, brand and design related disciplines
